Ready for Halloween, Long Island?

It's officially Fall, and Halloween is just around the corner...here are some events right here on Long Island to get you and your family in the "spirit"...

Hick's Nurseries in Westbury is hosting a Fall Festival each weekend of October. Includes hayrides, roasted corn, live animals and more, as well as an animated story, "Otto's New Friend." Visit Hick's website for a list of other events, including wreath making classes and a pumpkin carving contest.

• Weekends during the month of October, the fairgrounds at Old Bethpage Village Restoration are transformed into Long Island Fear Fest's CarnEVIL. The event includes haunted houses and hayrides, exhibits and a "monster midway." Visit the website for details and admission.

• October 21, 22, 23, 29, 30, 31, from 6-9 pm the Sag Harbor Whaling Museum becomes the "Wailing Museum." Admission is $10, visit their website for full information. Also look for their haunted tour of Sag Harbor, October 28-29 at 6 pm (tickets are $25, reservations required.)

Darkness Rising, a charity haunt will be taking place at 10 Brooklyn Avenue in Massapequa, weekends in October (starting on 10/7.) Admission is $10, and all proceeds benefit the YES Community Counseling Center and the Heather Pendergast Fund. Visit their website for more information.

• Each weekend (plus some) in October, F&W Schmitt Farms in Melville hosts a haunted mansion and corn maze, along with hayrides and a pumpkin patch. Visit the website for more information.
